Marvel star Sebastian Stan is set to reprise his role as Bucky Barnes in the upcoming movie, Thunderbolts*. The film introduces a new ensemble of some of Marvel's most intriguing characters. During San Diego Comic-Con, fans got their first glimpse of the Phase 5 movie, where Stan shared his excitement about Bucky's character development over the years. Reflecting on his journey, Stan expressed how incredible it has been to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade.
Stan elaborated on his earlier statement about Bucky having "nine lives," explaining how surprising and thrilling it has been to return, especially with this new group of characters. He emphasized that Bucky’s current arc brings him to a very exciting place, which feels like the right fit for the character. According to Stan, the peculiar mix of characters in Thunderbolts allows his character to blend seamlessly with the team.
During a closed-door panel, the first trailer for Thunderbolts* was revealed, featuring scenes such as Yelena's visit to the Red Guardian's apartment. This meeting precedes the introduction of the rest of the team, including Bucky, John Walker, Ghost, and Taskmaster. Together, these anti-heroes discover they have been tasked with a challenging mission.
GamesRadar+ interviewed David Harbour and Wyatt Russell, both of whom expressed hopes that their characters will endure in the MCU. Harbour humorously mentioned he could use the work, a sentiment echoed by Russell, who added he hopes to stay with the franchise unless it becomes too unappealing to continue.
